Volunteers Needed!

Have you ever thought about volunteering in the SPE?  There are many benefits, including:

  • Enhancing your leadership skills.
  • Influencing SPE programs and activities with your knowledge and experience.
  • Meeting and working with other members near you and around the globe.
  • Contributing in your area of interest.

Current needs

  • Social Activities
    (vacant)
  • Coordinate logistics for technical meetings regarding venue bookings
  • Coordinate with Communications Chair to promote event and register bookings
  • Proxy for Program Chair in times of absence
  • Community Outreach
    (vacant)
  • Initiate and coordinate community educational programs
    (e.g., FW Museum Engineers Week, school visits, etc.)
  • Identify community outreach opportunities
    (e.g., Toy Drive, Food Drive, etc.)
  • Communications
    (Spring '25)
  • Manage the Section's website – upload meeting notices, update news/material and Section contacts
  • Work with Program Committee, Social Chair, Event Chairs, and others to promote and receive bookings for events and programs
  • Promote section activities and initiatives through SPE Broadcast Email and other, as may be agreed from time-to-time by the Committee
  • Membership
  • Promote the benefits of SPE membership to members and non-members 

  • Coordinate and execute membership drives (renewals and new members) 

  • Review and report monthly on membership statistics 

  • Assists with Section membership queries as required 

  • Initiate recognition for long term members
