2026 Scholarship Awards Announced

 
The SPE Fort Worth Section is pleased to announce the 2026 Scholarship Award Recipients. 

Canon Chapman

 Canon Chapman is a senior at W.E. Boswell High School in Fort Worth, Texas, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and ranking in the top 5% of his class. He is a member of the National Honor Society, serves as an officer of the Volleyball Club, and was the founding president of the school’s Chess Club. As president of the Physics club, he led his team to a 1st place finish at the UNT Physics Olympics. 

Outside the classroom, Canon enjoys volleyball, working out, and cooking. Canon will attend Texas  A&M University, where he plans to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He has also been accepted into the Honors Academy at Texas A&M. 

                                                     

Enoch Adebayo

Enoch Adebayo is a senior at Trinidad Garza Early College High School in Dallas, Texas, where he is graduating second in his class with a 3.87 GPA. He is the co-founder and vice president of his high school robotics club. He has conducted undergraduate research at Dallas College, where he developed a prototype to help regulate the temperature of consumer electronics.

Outside of academics, Enoch enjoys playing basketball, video games, and cooking. Enoch will attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

2025

  • Arav Sawhney (Flower Mound, TX). Arav is pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin (Class of '29).
    • Arav will be taking classes and working on a personal project focused on the application of AI/ ML in the energy industry.

2024

  • Jakob Harrigan (North Richland Hills, TX). Jakob is pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Oklahoma (Class of '26) [Graduated]
  • Uriel Vazquez Jr. (Arlington, TX). Uriel is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (Class of '27)
    • Uriel will be interning at ECS in Carrollton, TX, which is a geotechnical firm
  • Luke Peacock (Haskell, TX). Luke is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Tarleton State University (Class of '28)
    • Luke will be interning at Turner Construction in Haskell, TX, as an Intern Superintendent/ General Contractor

2023

  • Mason Matthews (Carroll, TX). Mason is pursuing a degree in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering (Class of '27) 
    • Mason will be interning with Tower Rock Oil & Gas in Austin, TX, with the acquisitions team
  • Sam Norwood (Ponder, TX). Sam is a PE major at Texas A&M University (Class of '25) [Graduated]
  • Eli Peacock (Haskell, TX). Eli is a PE major at Tarleton State (Class of '27) [Graduated]

2022

  • Ashton Morrow (Burleson, TX). Ashton is an Engineering major at Tarleton State (Class of '26) [Graduated]
  • Blake Sutherland (Bridgeport, TX). Blake is an Engineering major at Texas A&M University (Class of '25) [Graduated]
  • Mason Hodge (Keller, TX). Blake is a Petroleum Engineering major at LSU (Class of '24) [Graduated]

2021

  • Pierce Miller (Fort Worth, TX). Pierce majored in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and graduated Fall ’23 with a Minor in Mathematics. [Graduated]
  • Sarah Qureshi (Lubbock, TX). Sarah is Petroleum Engineering major at Texas Tech University class of ‘24. [Graduated]

  • Isabella Diaz (Fort Worth, TX). Isabella is a student at Texas A&M University class of '24 majoring in Petroleum Engineering [Graduated]
