SPE Fort Worth

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Fort Worth SPE!

I hope you and your families enjoyed some time off this holiday season. It was a festive time here in Fort Worth, filled with Christmas parties and celebrations. Our second annual SPE Holiday Happy Hour was a smashing success. The weather was great, the view was spectacular, and we had a great turnout of over 50 people. Thank you again to our sponsors for supporting the event and particularly to US Energy Development Corporation for allowing us to host it at their office.

It’s now 2026 and we’re back in full swing with an exciting lineup of events through the rest of our season. Kicking off this year we’ll start with another presentation in the Distinguished Lecturer series. Mateus Palharini Schwalbert, senior researcher on well stimulations and completions at Petrobras, will be presenting on improving well performance in carbonate reservoirs. He will discuss treatment techniques for high and low permeability reservoirs, different stimulation options such as acid and proppant fracturing, as well as other important factors in completion design decisions.

Important to note, the Petroleum Club is undergoing renovations so our January meeting will be held at PalmWood Event and Conference (640 Taylor Street, Fort Worth). Parking is available in the Frost Tower Garage.

So tell your coworkers, tell your friends, you can even tell your geologist, and we’ll see you on January 15th at our next meeting!

Thank you,

Aaron Barbato

Fort Worth SPE Chairperson
