Jack Doak has 28 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. Jack started as a Acidizing Lab Analyst in 1976 for BJ-Hughes in their Arlington, Texas, R&D facility, working on the development of a retarded acid system and ongoing corrosion analysis of various acid products. He soon moved into the Fracturing Group as a Field Engineer, field testing developed fracturing fluid products throughout the Mid-Con and Rockies regions of the United States. Jack also handled special projects, fluid product training for new BJ district engineers, and conducting laboratory testing on new product ventures. In 1980, BJ-Hughes transferred Jack to Denver, Colorado, to work as a Region Sales Representative. Throughout the 1980s, Jack worked in stimulation services with The Western Company of North America and Smith Energy Services, all in a Regional Sales capacity.
In 1989, Jack left the petroleum industry (or the petroleum industry left Jack). For nine years he worked as the Director of Marketing and Communications for The International Golf Tournament at Castle Pines, an annual PGA Tour event. He developed sales and marketing plans for the tournaments corporate entertainment packages such as sky boxes and hospitality areas and developed the advertising strategies and promotional materials for the event. As Communications Director, Jack coordinated all media and player credential assignments as well as designed, staffed and managed the tournament media center for the week-long event.
Jack returned to the patch in 1999 with an Internet startup company, Wellbid, as Director of Marketing in the early years of the e-commerce boom. The highlight with Wellbid came in the fall of 1999 when the company was recognized as the 4th most visited exhibit at the National SPE Convention in Houston, Texas.
In 2004, Jack joined Weatherford International in their Denver, Colorado, sales office in the well construction group representing fishing services, drilling tools, casing exits and casing repair. In 2012, Jack and his wife, Sandy, came home to the DFW area working for Weatherford in their Fort Worth office. Jack is currently a member of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth and Dallas Sections of the SPE, the DFW Chapter of the AADE and The Fort Worth Wildcatters.
