For our April meeting, we are pleased to announce that Steve Bourgoyne will be presenting SPE-212369-MS "A Bullhead Refrac Application - Using Active Acoustic Pulses to Measure Diverter Effectiveness". This presentation was just presented at HFTC in The Woodlands in February.
Abstract
During a bullhead refrac treatment, an Eagle Ford operator utilized active acoustic pulses to measure diverter effectiveness while continuously pumping. The goal was to determine if the fluid point of entry along the lateral would change after the diverter material seated on the perforations. This presentation will show that the use of acoustics gives an operator real-time ground truth about the location of the fluid point of entry and will allow them to make changes to optimize the refrac operation during a stage.
BIO
Steven has over 15 years of experience in Upstream completion operations. Since 2017, he has led operations at Seismos and has been a part of the initial team for bringing a startup company to life with tremendous success. Drawing on his engineering background, Steven designed a field data acquisition system that enhanced quality control and provided real-time feedback and data analysis, significantly contributing to Seismos’ immediate success.
