For our first meeting, Dwayne Purvis is returning to give us his insights and thoughts on natural gas futures in his presentation on  "Dynamics of the Natural Gas Market". 

Abstract:
More than a decade of secularly declining prices created disinterest in the natural gas market as it quietly metamorphized.  Rig counts fell, prices fell, and entire basins closed.  Meanwhile, demand expanded hugely, new pipelines were built, other pipelines reversed, and exports began.  COVID shut-downs delayed the natural consumption of the metamorphosis, but the current spike in natural gas prices reflect the final transition to the new reality.  Mr. Purvis will examine how the market has transformed and what dynamics to watch in this new world. 

Biography:
Dwayne Purvis, P.E.  has spent two and a half decades in reservoir engineering and executive leadership as a consultant and operator.  He has led or participated in hundreds of field studies and reserve analyses over dozens of basins in the United States and abroad, and he has participated in the sale or acquisition of projects valued from tens of thousands to billions of dollars.
