Description

Join us on March 16th as Nicolas Bustamante presents "CO2 transportation from fluid characterization to practical examples on transportation/flow assurance from case studies in the US".

Abstract: In this presentation, Mr. Nicolas Gomez Bustamante, P.Eng, will present an overview of the carbon capture and storage process focusing on the transportation process and flow assurance. There will be a review of the CO2 pure and rich fluid thermodynamic properties and characterization, as well as recent experimental efforts to improve hydraulic analysis of multiphase flow analysis. Finally, Mr. Gomez Bustamante will provide an overview of the most relevant regulations for carbon projects using some practical examples.

Bio: Mr. Nicolas Gomez Bustamante, P.Eng is a professional petroleum and mechanical engineer with 18+ years of international experience in the energy sector focused on executing production optimization and flow assurance projects. Expertise in multiphase flow in steady-state and transient conditions in wells and pipelines, production data analysis, evaluation of field development plans, well completions and artificial lift systems. He has been working with SLB for over 16 years performing flow assurance consulting work in different international locations including Canada, Brazil, Mexico and the United States. He has been a member of the SPE since 2005 and he has master's degree in petroleum engineering from IFP School (France).
