May 2004 – Reservoir Characterization and Reserves Estimates of Horseshoe Canyon Coal Seams in Alberta

This presentation will summarize the reservoir characterization and reserves estimates generated by Quicksilver Resources, Inc. wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary, MGV Energy, Inc. (MGV), for its Horseshoe Canyon coal bed methane (CBM) development in the Palliser Project area. MGV has constructed a predictive model of the Horseshoe Canyon CBM reservoirs in the Palliser Project area using a geologic model developed for the area, refined with data from 25 exploration wells and 75 pilot wells. The reservoir model groups up to 47 individual coal seams into five distinct layers, integrating extensive petrophysical, core, pressure test, production test, and spinner survey data.
